RHDAustralia hosts a suite of electronic and printed resources to inform and educate the community about acute rheumatic fever (ARF) and rheumatic heart disease (RHD).
Resources reflect the latest best practice on a range of topics for understanding and managing ARF and RHD. They have been developed by RHDAustralia, Australian RHD register and control programs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and our national and international partners.
- The 2020 Australian guideline for prevention, diagnosis and management of acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease (3rd edition) was developed by an ARF/RHD expert writing group. It contains recommendations for care for people with ARF and RHD that is both clinically sound and culturally safe.
- Free, professionally accredited e-learning has been designed to educate and inform the health workforce. A suite of self-paced modules is delivered through our online learning management system.
- Smart applications (apps) are available for use on iPhone, iPad and Android devices to support diagnosis and management of ARF and RHD. Apps include the 2020 guideline and ARF diagnosis calculator, and Treatment Tracker; a mobile phone app to support people who receive regular penicillin injections to prevent ARF.
- Our resource library includes posters, fliers, presentations and radio interviews in a range of languages.
